Job Description
Role Highlights:
Title: Integration and Test AIT engineer
Department: Global Manufacturing Organization
Reports to: AIT Engineering Team Lead
Location: Espoo, Finland
Type of Contract: Permanent
Working model: On-site
Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO, where required)
ICEYE is seeking a Systems Integration & Testing AIT Engineer to act as the first point of contact for non-conformances arising across our AIT engineering team during spacecraft assembly, integration, and testing campaigns. This is a hands-on coordination and technical role for an engineer with solid cross-domain experience, strong prioritization instincts, and the ability to drive issue resolution efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-project production environment.
What you will do
Act as first containment for all NCs raised during AIT campaigns — triage, document, and assess each issue before routing or resolving
Support production when required as part of the mitigation
Resolve NCs directly when within your technical capability; hand over to the relevant domain AIT engineer with a complete, actionable NCR when not
Initiate and follow the issue resolution process when resolution requires cross-domain, customer, or management involvement, ensuring the right people are engaged at the right time
Ensure issue resolution and implementation of preventive actions, closing the loop across domains and verifying that corrective measures are effective and traceable
Track open NCs across all domains, maintain visibility of the overall issue landscape, and escalate items at risk of impacting the test schedule or critical path
Contribute to test readiness reviews, integration milestones, and campaign go/no-go decisions
Identify recurring issues and systemic risks across domains; feed findings back into process and design improvements
Represent AIT Engineering in cross-functional meetings and project reviews
Produce and maintain technical documentation including NCRs, test reports, and issue resolution records
Support the Technology Transfer to Production process
What you bring
Must have
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in AIT, systems integration, or a related engineering role in a complex hardware environment
Broad technical understanding across satellite subsystems
Strong prioritization skills and prompt response to incoming issues — able to manage multiple concurrent NCs, assess criticality and schedule impact, and make clear, justified decisions under time pressure
Familiarity with NC and NCR processes, root cause analysis, and corrective action workflows in a high-reliability hardware environment
A systems engineering mindset — able to spot cross-domain interface risks, connect the dots between an anomaly and its potential system-level impact, and know when to escalate
Clear, structured communication skills — written and spoken English — with the ability to interface effectively with domain engineers, production leads, and project management
Experience writing technical documentation including NCRs, test records, and issue reports
Able to work across multiple projects simultaneously without losing track of open actions
Nice to have
Experience in spacecraft AIT or satellite production environments
Familiarity with issue tracking and configuration management tools
Familiarity with Python or AI-assisted tools for productivity and process improvement
Exposure to FRACAS, IVV processes, or formal verification and validation frameworks
Ability to rapidly synthesize complex cross-domain information and communicate conclusions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Resilience and composure when managing competing priorities in high-pressure test campaigns
