The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) invites applications for the position of Officer to support the administrative and operational functions of the Global Engagement & Greater China Affairs team. The appointee will provide research, coordination, and operational support to facilitate partnerships, university alliance activities, and strategic engagement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct background research and institutional due diligence on prospective and existing partner institutions to support university partnership development and the execution of international engagement activities.
- Compile information and prepare briefing notes, presentations, reports, and background materials for senior management meetings, visits, and strategic engagements.
- Coordinate with internal units, service providers, and students to support senior-level meetings, inbound delegations, and international events.
- Arrange and coordinate logistics for outbound visits, including travel arrangements (flights, accommodation, and local transportation), itinerary preparation, and budget tracking, ensuring compliance with University requirements.
- Support the promotion and administration of university alliance activities through dissemination of opportunities, internal coordination, and facilitation of participation by University members.
- Maintain and update website content, databases, and records related to institutional partnerships, agreements, and engagement activities.
- Provide administrative support for day-to-day office operations and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A recognised bachelor’s degree, or above.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in higher education, academic administration, partnership management, international relations, or related fields.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
- Strong research, analytics, and information synthesis skills to support planning and decision-making.
- Mature, organized, detail-minded, and proactive, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to multitask, work independently, and contribute effectively as a team player.
- Good IT proficiency; experience in website content management and basic design skills (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Canva) with a good aesthetic sense would be an advantage.
(Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
