
Government Relations Specialist
Job Description
Join Casey’s in shaping a better future for our communities, guests, and team members as a Government Relations Specialist! In this role you'll support Casey’s Government Relations team by assisting with legislative and regulatory monitoring, research, documentation, and coordination activities. You will help track public policy developments impacting the business, prepare background materials and summaries, and support advocacy and stakeholder engagement efforts under the direction of senior team members. The Government Relations Specialist also assists with maintaining organized records, coordinating meetings and events, and supporting cross-functional collaboration as Casey’s expands into new and emerging markets.
What you'll do:
- Assist with monitoring federal, state and local legislative and regulatory activity relevant to Casey’s operations. Track updates, maintain logs, and help summarize key developments for review.
- Conduct basic research on legislative, regulatory, and public policy topics and assist with preparing summaries, briefing materials, correspondence, and presentations. Support coordination of meetings, hearings, and industry events, including scheduling and follow-up.
- Build and maintain relationships with government officials, trade associations, and other external stakeholders by assisting with advocacy activities such as drafting correspondence, background materials, and meeting notes. Coordinate and attend meetings, hearings, and events related to government relations, including logistics and follow-up documentation.
- Assist with research and coordination related to trade associations and external advocacy resources in new states. Help maintain information on trade associations and lobbyists and support ongoing coordination efforts as Casey’s expands into new markets.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of legislative and regulatory activity, advocacy efforts, and related communications.
- Support cross-functional collaboration by collaborating with internal teams, including Legal, Compliance, and Operations, to help share and track information related to legislative and regulatory matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation:
Starting pay range: $55,500 - $72,900. Actual pay may vary based on Casey’s assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. This position is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on company performance and an annual equity grant in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company.
