The Warehouse Worker performs essential physical and administrative duties to support facility-wide logistics, including shipping and receiving materials, loading and unloading trucks, and moving, managing the preservation, packaging, and storage of materials, supplies, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Receiving, Inspection & ERP Data Entry

When processing goods and goods notes ordered via the ERP System, you will execute the following workflow:

  • Unloading: Sling loads and safely unload incoming delivery trucks.

  • Documentation Review: Review packaging or advice notes against corresponding purchase orders (POs). Check for required compliance certificates as dictated by the PO.

  • Verification: Verify quantities and descriptions of goods against the PO, recording findings on the goods received note.

  • Discrepancy Reporting: Mark any deviations clearly on the note and immediately alert the purchasing department.

  • Tagging & Staging: Tag incoming goods and place them in the designated ‘Awaiting inspection’ area.

  • Paperwork Distribution: Ensure all relevant receiving paperwork is distributed to the correct departments.

  • Inspection Routing: Determine which items require further evaluation; tag and receive them into ERP Inspection. For items satisfying inspection (or those not requiring it), officially receive them into the ERP Warehouse.

2. Warehouse Organization & Inventory Control

  • Area Upkeep & Integrity: Maintain the stores and goods-in areas (including plant, equipment, tools, and consumables) in a safe, clean, orderly, and tidy condition, actively controlling the integrity of its contents.

  • Location Management: Organize warehouse locations to simplify daily storage and retrieval. Ensure all items are placed in their correct locations, properly tagged, and preserved.

  • Quality Checks: Periodically check the physical condition of goods stored in the warehouse.

  • Shelf-Life Control: Track and control the longevity of limited-life items, proactively advising the manager of impending expiration dates.

  • Material Segregation: Maintain a completely separate area for damaged hold goods and dead stock to strictly prevent their inadvertent use.

  • Security & Tracking: Prevent the unauthorized removal or entrance of any item into the warehouse, ensuring every movement is recorded.

  • Audits: Carry out routine inventory checks and cycle counts as required.

3. Picking, Packing & Shipping

When pick lists are issued or requests are made, you will:

  • Item Picking: Pick items accurately according to the list. Advise the order coordinator immediately of any discrepancies.

  • Condition Check: Ensure all picked items are in good physical condition and properly preserved.

  • Packaging Execution: Assemble cartons and pack materials according to established Company procedures.

  • Crate Construction: When required, physically construct wooden export crates specifically for parts and rotors.

  • Transit Protection: Package items securely to prevent damage and loss during transit, physically ticking off items on the pick list as they are packed.

  • Labeling: Mark boxes and cases with all required shipping and handling markings.

  • Dispatch: Distribute final shipping paperwork and load outgoing trucks safely.

4. Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Company Policy: Perform all warehousing, receiving, and packaging duties in strict accordance with Company policies and procedures.

  • Process Improvement: Actively make suggestions to management for improving established systems and workflows.

  • Flexibility: Perform any other duties and tasks throughout the facility as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience: 3–5 years of proven experience working in a warehouse environment.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced understanding of receiving inspections and experience inputting logistical data into tracking databases/ERP systems.
