Job Description
The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), School of Nursing (SON) is currently recruiting an Associate Director, Office of Academic and Career Success to support the Office of Student and Academic Services. The incumbent works collaboratively with the Director to create, implement, and provide oversight of academic success services offered by the Office.
The Associate Director of Student Services supports the achievements of student educational goals through three main thrusts: by providing academic advising to enrolled undergraduate and graduate students, by providing academic coaching in concert with UMB’s central services, and by helping to develop the holistic mission of student academic support at UMSON.

PRIMARY DUTIES
In collaboration with the advising team and Director, maintain a caseload of roughly 200 graduate and undergraduate students for advising and academic coaching.
Support Director with supervisory tasks, hiring, and training of advising and tutoring staff.
Serve in place of the Director to represent the office when needed.
Model professional advising for Assistant Director and Advisor.
Coordinate and provide administrative guidance for tutoring and supplemental instruction programming.
Develop and coordinate student training for student tutors and supplemental instruction leaders.
Contribute to orientation activities.
Coordinate outreach and support to incoming students. Responsible for data collection, analysis, and reporting. Tracks successful outcomes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field required. Master's degree in social work, counseling, student affairs, or related field can be substituted for two years of experience. Juris Doctorate can be substituted for three years of experience.
Experience: Five (5) years of progressive experience working with college students. Prior experience in higher education preferred.
Supervisory Experience: Three (3) years of work coordination, training, or supervision.
Other: This position may be required to work evenings and weekends as necessary. Clery act designated job as campus security authorities (CSA) member and will comply with Clery Act requirements.

Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently. Hiring Range: $80,000 – $90,000, Commensurate with education and experience.
