Job Summary
36 hours, night positionJoin White 8, a 26-bed adult general medicine inpatient unit, as an experienced Registered Nurse and care for a diverse population of patients with complex medical needs, including cardiovascular, pulmonary, endocrine, neurological, psychosocial, and infectious conditions. This dynamic environment offers endless opportunities to expand your clinical expertise—from advanced physical and psychosocial assessments to telemetry monitoring, complex wound care, and peritoneal dialysis. Nurses on White 8 are integral members of a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary care team, working closely with the Nurse Director, a unit-based Clinical Nurse Specialist, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring care is safe, efficient, and tailored to meet the cultural, spiritual, and individual needs of each patient and family, while contributing to outstanding patient outcomes in a supportive and engaging setting.

Summary
Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.

Essential Functions
• Maintain accurate, detailed reports, and records.
• Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
• Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
BSN degree is strongly preferred
1-2+ years of experience
Education
Associate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Registered Nurse MA License
Experience
Clinical nursing experience 0-1 year required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
