LOCATION: This is a full-time, Remote position. Lexitas provides a fully equipped home office setup, including a company-issued laptop.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Lexitas is seeking an experienced and driven Billing Specialist Team Lead to oversee client invoicing operations and support the day-to-day success of our Billing team. In this role, you’ll serve as both a hands-on billing expert and a trusted resource for Billing Specialists—providing guidance, training, and leadership while acting as a key backup to the Billing Supervisor/Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare, process, and distribute accurate client invoices across the assigned Business Unit
Print and distribute daily invoices via email, fax, or mail as required
Collect service order forms and court memos and coordinate scanning with Production
Respond to client billing inquiries by phone, email, or fax and resolve issues professionally
Balance court reporter payroll weekly and assist with payroll and mailing questions
Set up and maintain client bill rates within billing software systems
Prepare monthly client billing and financial reports
Invoice and prepare subpoena-related correspondence
Maintain organized billing records, filings, and vendor invoices for payment processing
Serve as a subject matter expert and primary resource for Billing Specialists
Provide onboarding and ongoing training for new hires and team members on complex billing matters
Understand weekly and monthly reporting requirements and serve as backup for the Billing Supervisor/Manager
Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and business needs

Familiarity with subpoenas, written depositions, and affidavits is a plus
Proven ability to multitask and perform well under pressure
Positive, team-oriented attitude with strong interpersonal skills
Reliable attendance, punctuality, and flexibility to work occasional overtime as needed
Willingness to accept direction and contribute creatively to process improvements
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred
Minimum of five (5) years of billing experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Prior experience in a legal, professional services, or high-volume billing environment strongly preferred
