SALARY: The hourly rate for this role is $16.50 per hour.
VACANCY TYPE: This posting reflects a vacant position (Full Time & Part Time roles available).
SHIFT:
This role operates on a variable schedule, with shifts changing week to week based on evolving taproom demands. Taproom operating hours fall between 10:00 AM and 12:00 AM, and candidates must be available to work a range of shifts within this window, including evenings and weekends as required.
OVERTIME ELIGIBILITY: This position is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable labour laws and pursuant with collective agreement. Overtime is paid at the legally required rate and may vary based on hours worked beyond the standard schedule.

Banded Peak Brewing is looking for a part-time team member to join our kitchen crew. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and takes pride in preparing high-quality food with consistency and care.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Food Preparation and Cooking
- Prepare and cook all menu items in accordance with established recipes, portion standards, and quality expectations.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control to prevent contamination and foodborne illness.
- Maintain consistency in flavor, portioning, and presentation for all dishes.
- Follow allergen awareness protocols and accommodate dietary restrictions as required.
- Assist with menu execution during events, promotions, or seasonal menu changes.
Kitchen Operations
- Set up, stock, and maintain workstations with all necessary supplies and ingredients.
- Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment according to training and safety guidelines.
- Perform open and closing duties as assigned.
- Follow proper cleaning and sanitization procedures before, during, and after shifts.
- Assist in daily prep and routine cleaning tasks.
- Support daily prep work and routine kitchen cleaning tasks to ensure operational readiness.
Taproom Operations and Guest Support
- Proactively support taproom operations during slower periods or non-peak hours.
- Assist with general cleaning, organization, and restocking shared spaces.
- Support basic cash handling duties and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system when required.
- Greet and assist guests in a friendly, welcoming, and professional manner.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of Banded Peak’s beer offerings, including styles, flavours, and key ingredients.
- Maintain a positive, team-first attitude and remain engaged during all shifts.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Adhere to all Alberta Health Services regulations and brewery kitchen safety policies.
- Use knives, tools, equipment, and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) appropriately and safely at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Ensure floors, walkways, and work areas remain dry and clutter-free.
- Report hazards, injuries, or unsafe equipment promptly to management.
Quality Control & Inventory
- Monitor food leaving the kitchen for quality, temperature, and presentation standards.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) practices for inventory rotation.
- Minimize food waste and support sustainability initiatives where possible.
- Assist with inventory checks, receiving, and proper storage of food products.
Cleanliness and Organization
- Maintain a clean and tidy taproom environment, including tables, bar counters, and seating areas.
- Complete and sign off on daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning lists before the end of designated shift.
- Ensure that glassware is sanitized and polished.
- Monitor and provide back-up stock for things such as napkins, and off sales, and kegs as needed.
- Directly inform management of any missing or required items needed for stock, cleaning, and organization.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Teamwork and Communication
- Work cooperatively with all team members to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Communicate important and necessary information using designated company chats.
- Support fellow team members during busy periods and assist with tasks as needed to maintain high service standards.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by treating everyone with respect and professionalism.
- No harassment, discrimination, or hostile behaviour will be tolerated.
Compliance and Responsible Service
- Ensure compliance with all relevant alcohol laws and regulations, including age verification and responsible service of alcohol. It is necessary to ID everyone that appears to be under the age of 25.
- Complete and maintain valid ProServe.
- Monitor customer behavior and intervene as necessary to prevent overconsumption or disruptive behavior.
- Follow brewery policies and standard operating procedures regarding responsible service practices and code of conduct.
- Report and document any incidents that occur before the end of your shift.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be over the age of 18 with a valid ProServe Certification.
Serving/Bartending experience considered an asset.
