Job Description
The Loader Operator is responsible for safely loading dry bulk materials (e.g., silica sand) into trucks, railcars, or containers according to specified weights and customer orders. The role focuses on following established safety and loading procedures under close supervision.
- Move levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drives vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material.
- Performs routine maintenance on loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires.
- Inspect the lifts before usage.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED Required.
- Minimum 3 yrs. experience operating similar equipment.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and equipment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to follow oral or written instructions.
- Ability to Operate loader and move levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front-end loader forward to force bucket into bulk materials.
- High level of safety and quality.
- Ability to multi-task at a fast-pace (at times), work in outside conditions during all seasons, climb multi-levels by stairs & ladders, work from elevated platforms, use hand tools (shovel, hammer, wrenches, etc.).
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Mine Safety and Health (MSHA) Knowledge - Preferred.
- Forklift experience - Preferred.
- Computer Software - Preferred.
- Warehouse experience - Preferred.
