The Idaho Bureau of Laboratories is seeking to fill a full-time permanent position for Quality System Specialist in Boise. We are seeking a candidate who excels in a fast-paced team environment and can balance a workload while coordinating multiple priorities. This role is responsible for supporting the specimen receiving team at the Idaho Bureau of Labs. The role will involve researching and responding to questions and gathering information from subject matter experts as needed. In addition, this role will be primarily responsible for assisting with inventory management, creation and management of internal and public facing dashboards utilizing Tableau or other reporting platforms, and backup support for the laboratory information system.
This position is not eligible for telework.

You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. - Some knowledge of management practices. Typically gained through completion of a college-level course or 20 hours of management training that included all the essential elements of management (Planning, Organizing, Leading, Controlling); OR three months of experience performing all management elements.
- Some knowledge of program or project planning and implementation. Typically gained through at least one year experience on a committee or with a group that involved program planning and implementation.
- Experience developing and evaluating policies and procedures. Typically gained through six months experience writing or assisting in reviewing/auditing and developing policies, procedures, field memorandums, directives or post orders.
- Demonstrated computer technology software experience. Typically gained by working with a variety of computer software, such as SharePoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, etc. Please make sure your resume reflects this.
- Knowledge of laboratory specimen receiving procedures. Typically gained by working at least 1 year in a certified laboratory.
- Knowledge of, and experience working with, a relational database. Typically gained by at least 1 year of experience using a Laboratory Information Management System.
- Experience interpreting and applying laws and regulation. Typically gained by working at least 1 year in a certified laboratory.
- Providing customer service. Typically gained by working at least 1 year in a job that interacts daily with the public.
If relocating to Idaho, the Department of Health & Welfare does not reimburse the cost of relocating and the department does not sponsor anyone with a work visa.
