Overview The Organization Design (OD) Specialist Lead acts as an internal consultant, partnering with HR and business leaders to design and implement organizational solutions that support business strategy, growth, operational effectiveness, and workforce transformation. This role conducts organizational analyses, develops workforce models, evaluates structure alternatives, and supports implementation of structural changes across the enterprise. The position combines data-driven insights, organizational design expertise, and strong stakeholder partnership skills to help build scalable, effective structures across our enterprise. Location preferred is Rolling Meadows, IL, however will consider other office locations. How you'll make an impact Partner with leaders to design organizational structures, operating models, and workforce strategies that enable business growth, transformation, and operational effectiveness. Lead organizational assessments and develop data-driven recommendations related to structure, governance, spans and layers, efficiency, workforce composition, and organizational health. Design and implement organizational solutions supporting M&A, restructuring efforts, and enterprise transformation initiatives. Build workforce models and scenarios to evaluate organizational impacts, talent implications, and business outcomes. Facilitate organizational design workshops and decision-making forums with executives and functional leaders. Provide executive-level and stakeholder reporting on design progress, risks, and talent-related synergies. Collaborate with HR, Finance, and business stakeholders to align organizational decisions with strategic priorities and workforce needs. Advance enterprise organizational design capabilities through methodology development, upskilling, and knowledge sharing. About You Required Skills Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in organizational design, organizational effectiveness, talent management, workforce planning, HR consulting, or a related field. Demonstrated knowledge of organizational design, operating model development, workforce planning, and change management principles. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience interpreting workforce and organizational data to develop actionable recommendations. Experience working with HRIS data, advanced Excel, and reporting or data visualization tools to support organizational decision-making. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a complex, matrixed environment. Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence and collaborate across organizational levels. Ability to navigate ambiguity, exercise sound judgment, and drive alignment in evolving business environments. Preferred Skills Master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field. Consulting experience in an internal or external consulting capacity, such as management consulting, HR consulting, Organizational Effectiveness, Center of Excellence, or HR Business Partner roles. Experience supporting enterprise transformations, mergers and acquisitions, organizational restructures, or large-scale workforce change initiatives. Experience with organizational modeling and workforce analytics platforms such as OrgVue, OrgBuilder, or similar tools. Proficiency with Power BI or other advanced data visualization and reporting platforms. Experience in insurance, financial services, or professional services industries. Compensation and benefits We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
