Sedgman is proud to offer the position of Document Control Team Leader to join our team in Perth. We are looking for an experienced Document Control Team Leader to drive excellence in documentation processes, systems, and team performance. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will ensure the timely, accurate, and efficient management of project documentation while leading and developing a high performing team


About the Role:


You will take ownership of document control systems and processes across projects, ensuring seamless coordination between teams, clients, and stakeholders. You will lead daily operations, manage priorities, and support continuous improvement in document management practices.


Key Responsibilities:


• Lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities and priorities of the Document Control team.
• Allocate tasks to meet deadlines and project deliverables.
• Provide coaching, guidance and on-the-job training to team members.
• Ensure clear communication, collaboration, and adherence to processes.
• Establish and maintain effective document control registers and procedures.
• Manage document flow between clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Ensure accurate storage, filing, archiving, and version control.
• Monitor compliance with document control procedures and standards.
• Support project teams from kick-off through to delivery.
• Create and manage project specific documentation.
• Attend project meetings as required and provide document control expertise.
• Liaise with clients and contractors to ensure smooth document exchange.
• Maintain accurate project notes and ensure effective handovers.
 

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Minimum 7 years’ experience leading teams in computerised and manual document control in an engineering environment.
• Experience in document control software.
• Knowledge and use of basic drawing viewers.
