About the Role:
Join us as a Senior Accountant where you’ll play a key role in supporting our team and driving operational excellence. This role is responsible for strengthening the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of the accounting operations function through enhanced processes, robust controls, and consistent month-end execution. The position partners closely with internal and external stakeholders to support audits, ensure tax and regulatory compliance, and maintain high-quality financial reporting. In addition, this leader mentors staff, reviews work for accuracy, and contributes to special projects that drive continuous improvement across people, processes, and systems.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized and detail-oriented accounting professional with deep expertise in accounting principles, regulatory compliance, and process optimization. They thrive in fast-paced environments, bring strong analytical and communication skills, and demonstrate leadership through mentoring staff and driving continuous improvement. With advanced Excel proficiency and experience in audits, tax compliance, and month-end close, they excel at strengthening controls, enhancing systems, and partnering cross-functionally to support operational success.
What You’ll Do:
- Support system, process, and control environment enhancements to optimize the accounting operations function (e.g., process improvements, etc.).
- Implement and document policies and procedures to efficiently and effectively support current business needs.
- Prepare audit schedules and be actively involved in all annual and potential audits.
- Work with internal and external business partners to ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and controls and provide support on special requests.
- Ensure sales and use tax returns are filed timely and sales tax GL accounts are reconciled accurately.
- Responsible for month end close tasks including accruals, reconciliations, management reporting.
- Lead, mentor, and coach staff.
- Review work and support documentation for accuracy.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects as assigned.
- Continuously learn, share, and implement improvements in all processes and responsibilities as needed to enhance effectiveness of providing world class service and support.
Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations and best practices.
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
- Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive, can-do attitude, and a true team player mentality.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to foster continuous process improvement.
- Highly adaptable to various levels of complexities of people, processes, and systems.
Education and Experience:
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field required.
- CPA or CPA eligible preferred.
- Relevant sales, use, & property tax experience a plus.
- 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Public Accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel skills.
- Aptitude for developing and maintaining a thorough working knowledge of accounting software and systems. Karmak, Salesforce, Odessa, Avalara, Vertex, and Tableau experience is preferred.
