Manufacturing Engineer Intern

This internship program targets high-performing undergraduates in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields, offering meaningful project experience to support both business goals and student development, while providing exposure to the medical device industry and potential future career opportunities.
What will you be doing?
- The role involves working closely with managers to execute assigned projects and present outcomes to senior leadership. Key responsibilities include conducting root cause analysis on product defects, supporting data collection and trending, performing measurements and verification testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement corrective actions.
- Additionally, the role provides engineering support in material disposition, equipment setup, and validation activities. It also involves assisting in process improvements, participating in equipment installation, and applying basic lean principles to enhance efficiency by eliminating non-value-added activities in manufacturing processes.
What will you need to be successful?
- Candidates must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline at an accredited university, with a preferred minimum CGPA of 3.0. The role is based in Batu Kawan, Penang, and prior internship, part-time, or apprenticeship experience in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
- The role requires individuals with a strong interest in manufacturing and process improvement, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Candidates should demonstrate strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. A high level of learning agility, leadership potential, and the capability to analyze data and present insights effectively to stakeholders are key success factors.
