Job Description

Set up lab equipment and collaborate with researchers in preparing specimens by subaliquoting following Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) from supervisor. Participate by preparing specimen shipments while maintaining chain of custody. Perform biobanking duties such as receiving, labeling, and storing and shipping biospecimens in compliance with University, State and Federal policies. Accurately document incoming and outgoing specimens in logbooks and electronic database of new or dispensed samples. Maintain detailed records of studies conducted; organize data, prepare data for computer input, input data into database, and record computer output. Maintain and operate laboratory and experimental equipment such as microtomes, microscopes, spectrophotometers, centrifuges, analytical balances, photometers, and spectrometers. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Good communication skills, Writing skills.
