Job Description

The Role 

The Operations Manager – Singapore is responsible for providing local operational management for Willis Re in Singapore, in close partnership with brokers, Finance, and the UK based Client Servicing & Operations (CS&O) team. 

This role provides a broad range of operational services, covering financial management, procurement and supplier management, workplace management, administration, and acting as the local Client Servicing & Operations (CS&O) presence in Singapore The balance of these different services will evolve over time and versatility is a key facet of the role  

The position supports the initial go live and ongoing scaling of the Singapore business. 

Your responsibilities will include: 
 

Client Servicing & UK Client Servicing & Operations Team Interface 

  • Work closely with the UK CS&O team to support their delivery of services to the Singapore team and clients across functions including Placement Support, Organisation Management / Onboarding, and Client Servicing 

  • Provide local insight and feedback to support the continuous improvement of global CS&O processes. 

Financial Management  

  • Work closely with the UK finance team acting as a liaison with local suppliers and ensuring invoices are paid on a timely basis 

  • Ensuring important financial and regulatory correspondence received in Singapore is directed to the appropriate person in UK finance 

  • If necessary, liaise with local auditors (Deloitte) to ensure any meetings are organised 

  • Act as the local support for questions related to travel – in particular trouble shooting any challenges with the Gray Dawes travel portal.  

Procurement & Vendor Management 

  • Execute local procurement activities in alignment with UK frameworks—sourcing, onboarding, and managing vendors in line with group policies and delegated authority. 

  • Act as the Singapore interface with UK procurement, ensuring alignment on supplier strategy, contract standards, and cost controls. 

  • Manage vendor performance, service levels, and risk (including due diligence, contract compliance, and issue resolution). 

  • Support budgeting and cost tracking for local spend, identifying optimisation opportunities while maintaining service quality. 

Workplace Management and Administration 

  • Act as the Singapore lead for workplace operations—coordinating closely with UK teams to ensure consistent standards, policies, and controls are applied locally. 

  • Oversee daytoday office management (facilities, health & safety, access, business continuity), ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements and company policies. 

  • Support office setup, expansion, and ongoing optimisation, including space management, employee experience, and cost efficiency. 

  • Provide ontheground administrative support (e.g., onboarding logistics, local documentation, regulatory filings), acting as the first point of contact for staff and corporate functions. 

Regulatory & Operational Compliance 

  • Ensure local operational activities are conducted in compliance with MAS regulatory requirements, entity licence permissions and conditions, and internal policies and operational controls. 

  • Support regulatory interactions, reviews, and audits in conjunction with Compliance, Risk, and Finance. 

  • Maintain accurate records and operational documentation aligned to global standards. 

 

About You 

  • Insurance experience, with an understanding of reinsurance business, servicing and support functions. 

  • Experience working with MASregulated entities and familiarity with the Singapore regulatory and business environment, with eligibility to work in Singapore. 

  • Comfort operating within a matrixed, multijurisdictional organisation and balancing local regulatory requirements with global standards and consistency. 

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership within a small local team, while collaborating closely with global and UKbased operations teams. 

  • Experience supporting newly established or scaling organisations, with adaptability to evolving structures and processes. 

  • Strong attention to detail and operational discipline, supported by sound judgement in prioritisation, escalation, and issue resolution. 

  • A collaborative, serviceoriented mindset, with a proven ability to build trusted relationships and deliver a highquality client experience. 

  • Clear and effective communication across cultures, functions, and time zones. 

  • Commitment to operating with integrity and in line with legal, regulatory, and organisational policies and best practices. 

  • Knowledge of London Market practices and Velonetic processes would be an advantage.
