How would you like to support and drive key financial end to end processes and collaborate with partners across the APAC region as part of the accounting team?
Core Responsibilities
Integral driver of end-to-end accounting processes in the region, including driving the standardization of accounting processes
Collaboration with various collaborator groups, including Global teams within the CFO Organisation, Regional business teams and external parties
Perform review & consolidation of financial documents to support compliance requirements, board reporting and assist in the global consolidation reporting
Facilitate key performance management meetings and drive improvements in indicators
Drive year-end closing and audit process and communication across the region
Collaborate with global counterparts to drive improvement in processes and lead the regional implementation of global projects (e.g. Blackline)
As a GL Controller for legal entities, perform review of accounting analysis, to ensure reporting in high quality and according to timelines:
Approve journals, ensuring consistency and completeness of all postings with accurate coding, classification and aligned with regional accounting principles
Review the trial balance and general ledger entries for 2 to 3 APAC entities, ensuring alignment with accounting standards (local accounting standards, IFRS) and tax laws, as well as resolve sophisticated accounting issues and assist Finance Business partners in resolution of finance-related issues
Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations including supporting explanations and ensure follow up on outstanding balances and taking corrective actions where needed.
Perform variance analyses for movements on all accounts to keep financials free from probable errors and misstatements
Own and regularly review documentation of accounting and finance procedures for updates
Act as key contact for queries concerning accounting and other finance matters
Maintain adherence to local statutory reporting rules, and lead communication with external and internal auditors
Responsible for the completion and review of internal and external statutory reporting and audit requirements and ensure compliance with local accounting standards, global processes, and company policies.
Collaborate with legal and tax teams to provide data and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Work closely with tax, transfer pricing, legal, AP, and treasury teams on various processes, including GST filings, transfer pricing adjustments, and legal compliance.
Prepare, review and submit government reports, and ad-hoc financial information requests
Proactively address ad-hoc requests and design solutions for issues related to accounting, tax, and regulatory compliance.

You will be a part of Business Service Operations (BSO), which is a shared service center that delivers Employee and Finance services to The LEGO Group from 5 locations – Monterrey, Prague, Singapore, China and Vietnam. Within BSO, the Accounting Services (GL) team is responsible for the maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of the consolidation reports and meeting the global tax and statutory compliance requirements. The department balances a mix of internal resources and third parties to efficiently meet global compliance requirements. There is a strong focus on clear and accurate status reporting, maintaining a strong internal control framework, using technology and standard processes to meet our operational targets. The role will require a self-starter mentality and a dynamic aim to support the global standardization and automation ambitions, as well as drive process efficiencies in the Accounting Services (GL) stream. The ideal candidate would have a strong commitment to helping others as well as effective skills in managing connections and expectations.
Do you have what it takes?
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting field & preferably within BSO (Shared Services areas) environment
Significant experience of audit and/or financial controlling experience with proven track record and solid experience in accounting regulations, preferably in a global MNC environment.
Experience of working and driving in a high collaborative environment under a global setting, while delivering local deliveries & promoting coherence and end-to-end perspective
Significant professional experience within broader finance area demonstrating sound process and functional knowledge from a similar position, international experience from a multinational company a preference
Strong communication & collaborator management as well as ability to resolve business issues with a structured and collaborative approach, with proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and geographies, including APAC and global partners.
Ability to manage several priorities successfully to deliver business needs
Strong Change leadership attitude and capability
Strong business sense, understanding how business works, and how BSO plays a critical role for the LEGO Group on process optimization and improvement on scalability and productivity agenda
Structured and effective communications with team, leadership and stakeholders
Knowledge of accounting standards like IFRS, with thorough understanding of theoretical and practical aspects of accounting and compliance.
Strong problem-solving skills to address local-specific complexities and align them with global processes.
Proficiency in financial systems, including SAP and Excel
