Project Manager, Engineering
Location: Hybrid, Bengaluru, India

Position Summary
Deepwatch is seeking a highly organized and execution-focused Project Manager, Engineering to drive engineering delivery and project execution across our India engineering organization. This role will work closely with Engineering, Product Management, Security, AI, and Operations teams to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of projects within the Engineering organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, proactive in identifying risks, and capable of managing multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced product engineering environment.
The Project Manager, Engineering will play a key role in improving execution visibility, maintaining operational rigor across Jira and Agile processes, coordinating cross-functional dependencies, and ensuring projects are delivered on time with clear stakeholder communication. This role reports directly to the VP of Engineering and will partner closely with US-based Engineering and Program Management teams to ensure strong execution alignment across globally distributed teams.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Delivery
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of engineering projects from planning through execution, release, and closure
- Coordinate project activities across Detection Platform and AI Solutions engineering teams
- Track project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, timelines, and execution risks
- Ensure projects remain on schedule and proactively drive resolution of blockers impacting delivery
Agile & Jira Management
- Drive operational rigor across Jira workflows, sprint tracking, backlog management, and release coordination
- Facilitate sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, release readiness reviews, and execution tracking activities
- Maintain accurate project documentation, status reporting, dashboards, and execution metrics
- Ensure teams follow established engineering processes and delivery standards
Stakeholder Communication & Escalation Management
- Provide regular project updates, status reports, and risk visibility to Engineering leadership and stakeholders
- Identify execution risks early and escalate issues with clear mitigation plans and recommendations
- Coordinate effectively with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Architects, QA, and Operations teams
- Serve as a communication bridge between India engineering teams and US-based stakeholders
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Manage dependencies across multiple engineering teams and workstreams
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering leadership to align priorities, timelines, and release expectations
- Support coordination across distributed teams working across multiple time zones
- Help drive accountability, transparency, and alignment across engineering initiatives
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Continuously improve project management processes, tracking mechanisms, and reporting structures
- Support engineering leadership in improving execution predictability and operational efficiency
- Help establish scalable project governance and engineering coordination practices
- Contribute to building a strong culture of ownership, collaboration, and execution excellence
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in Project Management within software engineering or technology organizations
- Strong experience managing engineering projects in Agile/Scrum environments
- Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, sprint tracking, backlog management, and release coordination
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and engineering delivery processes
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent engineering projects in fast-paced environments
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong ability to identify project risks, manage escalations, and drive issue resolution
- Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams, including US-based stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-through and execution discipline
- Ability to work independently and drive projects with minimal supervision
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in cybersecurity, SaaS, cloud, or enterprise software environments
- Exposure to AI/ML-focused engineering projects and modern engineering workflows
- Understanding of cloud platforms, distributed systems, and engineering operations
- Experience supporting release management and engineering execution processes
- PMP, Scrum Master, or Agile certifications are a plus
- Prior experience in startup or high-growth product organizations preferred
