Job Summary
The Maintenance Apprentice assists in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment and facility systems while developing the skills required to become a fully qualified Industrial Maintenance Technician. This role provides hands-on training in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with a focus on safety, preventive maintenance, and continuous skill development.

Job Function
- Assist experienced technicians with equipment inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Learn to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and work orders.
- Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades.
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic/testing equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements.
- Participate in on-the-job training and development programs to build technical skills.
- Support production operations by responding to maintenance needs under supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school, vocational training, or related coursework preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude with a strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Ability to read and understand basic technical manuals, diagrams, and maintenance instructions.
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow direction from senior technicians.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance documentation and work order systems.
- Familiarity with hand tools, measuring instruments, and general maintenance safety practices preferred.
- Basic understanding of industrial equipment such as motors, conveyors, pumps, and bearings is a plus.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance concepts is a plus.
- Dependable attendance, strong work ethic, and positive attitude.
