Job Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery, equipment, and facility systems. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical expertise to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support safe and efficient plant operations.

Job Function

 
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Install, maintain, and repair motors, motor controls, drives, conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and production equipment.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on AC/DC circuits, control panels, relays, contactors, sensors, and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
  • Install and modify electrical wiring, conduit, panels, and equipment in accordance with applicable codes and company standards.
  • Conduct equipment inspections to identify potential failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage documentation.
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, electrical safety, and PPE requirements.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to maximize equipment uptime and efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 


Required Skills

 
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training, apprenticeship, or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in an industrial environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in mechanical repair, industrial electrical troubleshooting, and motor controls (including VFDs).
  • Working knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and on-call schedules as required.
