Job Description

The Role

This role has full ownership of euNetworks' market-leading Ultra-Low Latency (ULL) trading product. You will be accountable for the strategy, commercial performance, investment decisions and long-term growth of a network that serves some of the world's most sophisticated financial institutions.

You will operate as the business owner for euTrade, with direct responsibility for its P&L and the freedom to shape its future direction. Your decisions will dictate where we invest, which routes we build, how we compete and how we maintain our leadership position in one of the most demanding and competitive markets in telecommunications.

This is a role for someone who enjoys solving difficult problems, accountability, uncovering opportunities before competitors do and building defensible advantages. While an interest in networks and financial markets is helpful, we place far greater value on commercial judgement, intellectual curiosity, strategic thinking and execution.

If you've read Flash Boys by Michael Lewis, or you’ve watched The Hummingbird Project and found yourself fascinated by the commercial value of latency, the race to build faster routes and the strategic importance of infrastructure, this role offers the opportunity to shape and grow one of the industry's leading ultra-low-latency platforms.

What will you be doing?

Own the Business

  • Manage the product P&L, including revenue growth, profitability and cost leadership
  • Build business cases and evaluate investment opportunities
  • Define pricing strategy and support sales drive return on investment.

Understand the Market Better Than Anyone Else

  • Develop a deep understanding of exchange growth, liquidity shifts, mergers, acquisitions and venue migrations
  • Understand trading firm and market data provider business models, points-of-presence, and the value of latency within their ecosystems
  • Analyse competitor strategies, strengths, network developments and customer loyalty dynamics
  • Identify opportunities to create unique and defensible competitive advantages.

Develop Winning Strategies

  • Apply game theory, competitive assessment and structured problem-solving to identify and develop unique, defendable route opportunities
  • Evaluate competitor behaviour, market dynamics and strategic trade-offs to determine the most effective investment and go-to-market decisions
  • Assess risks, scenarios and potential responses before committing resources, adapting strategies as market conditions evolve
  • Use data, market intelligence and commercial insight to guide decision-making and strengthen competitive advantage.

Lead the Product Lifecycle

  • Define product strategy and long-term roadmap
  • Manage lifecycle decisions across the portfolio
  • Support new logo acquisition, cross-sell and upsell campaigns.

Build Relationships Across the Ecosystem

  • Develop strategic relationships with customers, partners and industry stakeholders
  • Influence decision-makers and build credibility across the market
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and partnership opportunities
  • Support Sales in customer engagements and product positioning.

Get Out Into the Market

  • Spend time with customers, partners and industry participants
  • Gather intelligence directly from the market rather than relying solely on reports and presentations
  • Be prepared to challenge assumptions and uncover opportunities first-hand
  • Operate with a "boots on the ground" mentality and a bias towards action.

What do we want from you?

Commercial Instinct

  • Strong commercial judgement and an ownership mindset
  • Experience evaluating opportunities, investments and business cases
  • Ability to balance growth, profitability and strategic positioning
  • Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information

Exceptional Problem Solving Ability

  • A structured and analytical approach to complex challenges
  • Outstanding attention to detail especially during planning
  • Ability to assess options, risks and competitive responses
  • Natural curiosity and a desire to understand how markets really work
  • Interest in strategy, incentives, game theory and competitive dynamics

Shrewd Tactical Thinking

  • You enjoy competition and finding ways to win
  • You anticipate competitor actions and position accordingly
  • You understand how small advantages can compound into meaningful market leadership
  • You are constantly looking for opportunities to create sustainable differentiation

Self-Motivation and Drive

  • A go-getter mentality with a bias towards execution
  • Comfortable working autonomously and leading from the front
  • Willing to challenge the status quo and pursue opportunities proactively
  • Able to build momentum and deliver outcomes without waiting for direction

Relationship Building and Influence

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to build trust with customers, partners and internal teams
  • Comfortable supporting executive-level discussions and negotiations
  • Skilled at aligning diverse stakeholders behind a common objective

Technical Curiosity

  • A base level of technical literacy in networking, DWDM and optical infrastructure is desirable, but most important is the willingness and capacity to learn quickly
  • You do not need to be a network engineer, but you should be capable of understanding how technology choices create commercial advantage.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who combines the mindset of a strategist, the curiosity of an investigator and the accountability of a business owner.

If this position is of interest but you don’t think you meet all of the criteria listed, please consider applying still. euNetworks looks to recruit people with the right attitude, potential and ambition and for the right candidate, we will provide further training and support to enable you to develop in the role.
