Senior Technical Consultant – Platforms & Training Systems (TPOC)

About the Team

The TLC Platforms and Support team is the technical backbone of the Temenos Learning Community. We build, manage, and support complex Temenos product environments across Cloud (Azure) and On‑Premise infrastructures.

Our platforms directly power TLC’s global, revenue‑generating services:

  • TLC Classroom (Instructor‑led training)
  • TLC Online (Sandboxes)

We take end‑to‑end ownership of these platforms — from environment design and deployment to live support during high‑stakes training sessions. Stability, repeatability, and performance are critical, as these environments are actively used by trainers, partners, and customers worldwide.

About the Role

We are looking for a strong technical engineer with platform ownership mindset to serve as the Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) for our training environment.

This is not a ticket‑only support or pure DevOps role.

As TPOC, you will own your environments end‑to‑end, from Day‑0 deployment through Day‑2 operational support and be fully accountable for their readiness before and during live training sessions.

While prior Temenos product experience is desirable, this role is deliberately designed for engineers with deep core technology expertise (application servers, OS, databases, containers) who can rapidly onboard complex enterprise products and take ownership with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Ownership & Architecture

  • Act as the single‑threaded technical owner (TPOC) for assigned environments, accountable for system design, sizing, stability, and readiness.
  • Translate training and business requirements into clear technical environment architectures, working closely with Product Management and internal stakeholders.
  • Make and own architectural and technical decisions for environments without reliance on constant escalation.

Deployment and Environment Engineering

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Temenos products across Cloud (Azure) and On‑Premise platforms.
  • Engineer stable, repeatable environments for TLC Classroom and Online use cases.
  • Build and maintain reliable environment, snapshots and training‑ready product packs aligned with strict training prerequisites.
  • Continuously improve deployment workflows, automation, and recovery mechanisms.

Operations and Live Support

  • Own and resolve complex L2/L3 issues, including providing real‑time live support to trainers during critical training sessions.
  • Ensure zero or minimal disruption during scheduled training deliveries.
  • Proactively monitor system health and address risks before they impact users.
  • Work closely with Temenos PACS and Product teams to investigate and resolve deep technical or product issues.

Process, Documentation & Team Enablement

  • Author and maintain high‑quality runbooks, installation guides, and operational procedures.
  • Drive operational excellence through standardization, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Raise the overall technical maturity of the Platforms & Support team through mentoring and collaboration.

Skills & Qualifications Required

  • Demonstrated experience owning complex enterprise platforms end‑to‑end (deployment, operations, and support).
  • Comfortable acting as the final technical authority during production or business‑critical events.
  • Ability to independently onboard and support new enterprise products within a short ramp‑up window
  • 5+ years of prior experience of deploying or supporting Temenos products (e.g., Transact, Payments, Digital, Wealth) is a strong advantage.
  • Candidates without Temenos exposure must demonstrate a proven track record of rapidly learning and owning complex enterprise platforms in production environments.
  • Strong, hands‑on experience with application servers JBoss / Tomcat / WebSphere
  • Strong hands-on experience in deploying and managing Containers, container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (K8s), and an understanding of Microservices architecture.
  • Strong working knowledge of databases including Oracle, MSSQL, and Postgres.
  • Demonstrated experience owning complex enterprise platforms end‑to‑end (deployment, upgrades, operations, and support).
  • Knowledge or hands-on experience with OpenShift, Azure cloud infrastructure is an added advantage.
  • Deployment and administration experience across Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Strong capacity to work with modern ticketing systems like Jira, Service now to track user stories, technical tasks, and support tickets effectively.
