Catholic Service Pianist

Key Responsibilities

• Perform piano accompaniment during:
  • Weekly Sunday worship services
  • Choir rehearsals
  • Special religious services and events
• Play prelude, offertory, hymns, and postlude music
• Arrive at least 20 minutes prior to scheduled services
• Coordinate with Chaplain staff on music selection and scheduling
• Support congregational singing and liturgical flow
• Maintain professionalism and appropriate appearance at all times

Schedule

• Weekly Sunday Services: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM (up to 52 per year)
• Weekly Rehearsals: Up to 52 annually
• Special Services: Up to 12 per year
• Special Rehearsals: Up to 12 per year

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Piano or Organ Performance (required)
• Minimum 2 years experience as a church or chapel pianist (within last 5 years)
• Ability to:
  • Sight-read music
  • Perform four-part harmony
• Strong familiarity with hymnal music and liturgical services
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
• Letter of recommendation from a Senior Chaplain (within last 12 months)
