Job Description
This position will leverage accounting principles to record financial information and perform various analyses, including: inventory costing, production order and variance analysis, product and profitability analysis, financial reporting analysis (material cost analysis, actual vs. budget expense), and assist with the annual audit and budget processes.
- Analyze and interpret data from the reporting system, which includes: Sales (prices, volumes), Manufacturing Costs (variable, fixed), Efficiencies, Wastage, and Inventory.
- Perform requested analyses, requiring a strong understanding of the involved manufacturing processes.
- Conduct contribution margin analysis.
- Consult on product and customer profitability, identifying areas for improvement compared to objectives or historical performance.
- Produce finishing and loss reports for specific product lines.
- Analyze production orders and variances.
- Cost new products and perform inventory analysis as needed.
- Facilitate and review cycle counts, generating a weekly report.
- Complete month-end closing tasks, including production order settlement, FI-COGS reconciliation, and monthly reporting.
- Assist with the annual budgeting process and external financial audit.
- Set up and reconcile customer rebates.
- Set up and maintain R&D internal orders, closing them upon completion.
- Prepare journal entries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Cost Analysis: Experienced in inventory product costing, margin calculation, and standard costing systems.
- Manufacturing Costing: Possesses a strong understanding of manufacturing costs (variable and fixed), Bill of Materials (BOM), and production efficiencies.
- Budgeting: Demonstrated experience with the annual budgeting process.
- Work Style: Independent worker, combining intelligence, experience, and self-confidence to excel with minimal supervision.
- Results-Oriented: Prioritizes effectively to deliver projects on time and achieve desired outcomes.
- At least 5 years of experience in the Accounting Department of a manufacturing company.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a higher degree preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards (preferred)
- SAP experience (FI, CO, COPA modules) and proficiency in MS Excel and BW Reporting
