
Patient Registration Specialist
Job Description
This is a full-time position located on our main campus (30th & L). The schedule will be 40 hours per week; generally, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm.
Job Duties
The Patient Registration Specialist serves as one of the first points of contact for patients and visitors of the clinic. Responsibilities include providing prompt, informative, and professional customer service to visitors, patients, and staff, as well as ensuring timely, accurate, and secure registration of patients.

Greets and screens visitors and patients for service needs. Works closely with staff to expedite requests and ensure smooth clinic flow.

Captures required patient information, including, but not limited to: patient demographics, third-party insurance, and other information in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Screens and verifies insurance and/or other program/agency coverage for every patient and captures documentation of such eligibility (insurance card, voucher, SFS application, etc.)

Accurately processes and manages patient payments to minimize discrepancies, including secure cash-handling, drawer balancing, and deposits.

Works with the Revenue Cycle Team to increase patient revenues.

Informs patient of registration procedures, documents needed for the appointment, and cancellation/reschedule procedures.

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Proficiency in both English and Spanish required.

Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Products required.

Prior work experience in a medical office and/or customer service preferred.

Demonstrated ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.

Must possess strong customer service skills, close attention to detail, effective teamwork skills, and a proactive attitude.

Demonstrated ability to maintain an appropriate filing system for the retrieval of needed information.

Demonstrated ability to relate with warmth and empathy to OneWorld patients and staff.
