Job Summary: Set up and run CNC Machining Centers.
Essential Duties: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
- Safely and competently setup and operate CNC mills with minimal supervision and technical guidance.
- Perform part inspections as necessary to ensure quality of work and continually monitor parts production to ensure adherence to blueprint tolerances using appropriate inspection tools and criteria.
- Deburr parts after machining operation to meet required specifications.
- Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion and perform basic preventative maintenance activities as required.
- Maintain correct daily labor time recording and AS9100-related quality documents.
- Perform other general shop duties or assist other departments as business demands require.
Education /Experience:
- High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent is
requiredpreferred. - 3-5+ years’ CNC Milling experience.
- Possess a working knowledge of typical shop inspection equipment such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, dial indicators, bore gages, CMM’s, and be proficient with all inspection methodologies.
- Good working knowledge and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), metal cutting principles, tooling, and thread nomenclature is required.
Physical Requirements: Includes regular exposure to manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and respirators.
- Must be capable of standing for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
