
Jr. Staff Accountant
Job Description
The Junior Staff Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of the Finance team, with a primary focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, and transactional accuracy. Reporting to the Accounting Operations Supervisor, this role is responsible for processing high-volume financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting month-end close activities. This position provides an opportunity to build a strong foundation in accounting within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Working Relationships:
This position reports directly to the Accounting Operations Supervisor and collaborates cross-functionally with departments, including production, logistics, and leadership, to support accurate and timely financial processes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Process customer billings and invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Record and reconcile incoming customer payments.
- Enter and process vendor invoices within the accounts payable system.
- Assist with payment disbursements, including ACH and wire transfers.
- Maintain and update vendor master records.
- Review and process employee expense reports and corporate credit card transactions.
- Communicate with internal teams and external partners regarding billing, payments, and inquiries.
- Support general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end close processes.
- Support audit requests and documentation.
- Assist with annual 1099 preparation and reporting.
- Follow established accounting procedures and support continuous improvement of AP/AR workflows.
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in accounting, AP/AR, or similar role.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, data organization; pivot tables a plus).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP or similar) is a plus.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $45,000 – $55,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
