We are currently recruiting for the position of Human Resources Coordinator.

The Human Resources Coordinator supports and administers key HR functions, including employee relations, compliance, benefits, workers’ compensation, recruitment support, training coordination, and HR policy implementation. This role works closely with operations and leadership to ensure consistent application of HR practices while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The HR Coordinator serves as a trusted resource for employees and supervisors and contributes to maintaining a positive, safe, and compliant workplace culture.

The tasks and responsibilities of a Human Resources Coordinator are outlined below: 

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Support recruitment for exempt, non-exempt, and temporary roles in collaboration with department leaders.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities including background checks, I-9 verification, new hire paperwork, and orientation.
  • Track temporary labor usage and coordinate with staffing agencies as needed.
  • Process new hires, terminations, and status changes within the HRIS.
  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation and required training sessions.

HR Records & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate personnel records (digital and physical) in compliance with company policy and legal requirements.
  • Prepare and support compliance reporting (e.g., EEO-1, OSHA logs, I-9 audits, unemployment).
  • Maintain current knowledge of employment laws, regulations, industry trends, and HR best practices.

 

Benefits Administration

  • Administer employee benefits programs including enrollments, changes, terminations, and claims resolution.
  • Communicate benefit information to employees and address benefit-related questions.
  • Review and approve benefit-related invoices for payment in coordination with finance.

 

Employee Relations & Communication

  • Serve as the first point of contact for routine HR inquiries from employees and supervisors, escalating complex matters to the HR Manager.
  • Provide translation support for employee communications, policies, and meetings.
  • Support all employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and other similar events.
  • Promote company values, engagement initiatives, and an open-door culture.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.

 

Safety, Training, & Development

  • Partner with operations and facilities to ensure compliance with OSHA and workplace safety standards.
  • Coordinate and conduct training initiatives to support employee development and performance improvement.
  • Support training compliance and documentation.

 

Budget & Administrative Support

  • Assist in administering the local HR budget, supporting accurate forecasting and cost containment initiatives.
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings, seminars, and HR-related meetings.
  • Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.

 

General Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties in a safe, clean, and organized manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support HR and organizational needs.

The skills and qualifications required for a Human Resources Coordinator are outlined below: 

  • A.S. degree in a Business or Human Resources-related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2–4 years of experience in a Human Resources support or generalist role.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present training materials and prepare internal and regulatory documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism, discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with HR systems and reporting tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
