Located at The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, The Spa at Torrey Pines is a destination for quality spa treatments, luxury amenities, and exceptional service. The 9,500-square-foot space features 14 treatment rooms and spa services inspired by its natural surroundings of the Pacific Ocean and the indigenous plant life of the treasured Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve.

SUMMARY
The Massage Therapist ("Terapeuta de Masaje") contributes to our guests' well-being by ensuring proper treatments and screening for contraindications. Provides the highest level of professionalism, gracious service and treatment quality offered to our guest.

Compensation: $17.75 plus commission

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Provides a positive, professional appearance and demeanor to our guests.

Adhere to all state licensing standards and procedures for operation, sanitation and cleanliness.

Assess guest contraindications that may affect their ability to safely receive services, and based on individual needs.

Maintain a professional, confidential practitioner-client relationship; understand and use universal precautions and code of ethics when providing services.

Inform our guests of treatment steps to follow.

Maintain exceptional knowledge of all services, products and ingredients and the ability to explain the benefits and recommend additional services and products.

Prepares treatment room for upcoming treatments.

Maintain cleanliness of equipment and stations used, as well as restock linens and products between and at the end of each working shift.

Must possess the ability to perform consecutive services in a pre-determined period of time.

Work assigned schedule; begin and end all treatments on time; ensure work areas are clean and set according to procedures.

Attend all scheduled meetings and professional trainings, as requested.

Display professional demeanor and appearance at all times.

Ensures the facilities are well maintained.

Follows the company's safety and emergency procedures.

Maintains current credentials and licenses as required by city, county, and state regulatory agencies.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Have and maintain a current California state license or certification as a massage therapist, as required by state law
- Minimum one-year experience providing massage therapy in a luxury spa environment is preferred.
- Previous similar position in a spa or hotel is preferred
- Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required
- Experience with body wraps, scrubs, hot stone and prenatal massage is preferred.
- Exceptional attention to details, time management and customer service skills.
- Presents a caring, warm demeanor with a true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced, luxury environment.
- Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 50 lbs
- The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
