Description
As an Internal Medicine LVT, you will play a critical role in both advanced patient care and client communication, supporting diagnostics, treatment plans, and ongoing case management.
Here is What Your day May Consist of:
- Assisting veterinarians with internal medicine cases and procedures
- Skilled venipuncture, catheter placement, and sample collection
- Monitoring and recording TPRs (temperature, pulse, respiration) and blood pressure
- Providing safe and effective restraint of dogs and cats
- Assisting with basic anesthetic procedures, including patient prep and positioning
- Supporting diagnostics such as imaging and lab work
- Collaborating closely with our Emergency & Critical Care team on complex and critical cases
- Communicating with clients regarding appointments, medications, and follow-up care
- Confidently discussing estimates and treatment plans with clients
- Maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring continuity of care
Here is What You Will Bring to the Position:
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (LVT / RVT / CVT) in good standing
- Strong technical skills: venipuncture, vitals, restraint, and patient monitoring
- Comfortable in a client-facing role, including discussing treatment plans and estimates
- Experience with or interest in internal medicine and complex case management
- Ability to stay calm and effective when working with critical or high-acuity patients
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
- Passion for learning and growing within specialty veterinary medicine
