Job Description

Summary

This position is responsible for oversight and clinical supervision, with limited operational responsibilities. The Nurse Clinical Supervisor will ensure compliance with licensing and accreditation standards, and is responsible for the administration of nursing care to all residents, providing health information and assessments for guardians and staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure effectiveness and compliance with policy, licensing, accreditation, and state and federal requirements.
  • Responsible for clinical supervision of the Nursing Department for all LPNs.
  • Must be able to perform all job duties as identified on the Nurse job description.
  • Supervises, schedules, and coordinates contracted medical providers, including psychiatrists, medical doctors, and laboratory services, to meet the needs of the agency.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the medical needs of all clients are met as per accreditation standards.
  • Purchases medical supplies for the entire agency and is responsible for all health-related billing for the agency.
  • Responsible for monitoring compliance with medical policies and for updating said policies as indicated.
  • Monitors and aggregates data for compliance with medication administration polices and procedures within the agency.
  • Provide and coordinate Medication Administration, Education Training, and other training as needed.
  • Record data, outcome measurement, and other significant information needed to show program services, generate billing documentation, and develop reports for communicating with agency leaders and staff, funders, and accrediting and licensing bodies.
  • Manage and role model agency rules, policies, and procedures, including attendance, program/department-specific procedures, workplace safety, code of conduct, training requirements, social media, and confidentiality
  • Ability to be available and on call after hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Must be licensed and currently registered as an LPN in the State of Missouri.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in providing client care with adolescent and psychiatric medicine preferred.
  • Should have demonstrated strong leadership, interpersonal, and supervisory skills.

 

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, public groups, and/or clients.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Skills: E-mail, word and database experience
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively and take instructions. Employee must sit or stand at a computer terminal or desk, with light walking and lifting of items under five pounds.
  • In addition, the employee must be able to perform all Safe Crisis Management (SCM) certified physical intervention techniques as identified in the SCM training program. An individual must successfully pass the SCM certification class and accurately perform techniques on the job.
  • Work Environment: This position primarily serves the residential youth intensive treatment facility but may need to travel from one location to another on an as-needed basis.
