Position: Lifeguard PT/FT
Location: Sailfish Club of Florida – Palm Beach, FL
Summary:
The Lifeguard position at the Sailfish Club of Florida is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of members and guests in the club’s aquatic areas. This includes active supervision of swimmers, enforcing pool rules, and responding promptly to emergencies with professional lifesaving techniques. The role also involves maintaining a clean and safe pool environment and providing courteous service in a private club setting. Ideal candidates are certified, vigilant, physically fit, and committed to creating a safe and welcoming experience for all.
Hourly pay subject to experience. Flexible scheduling including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Job Duties:
- Monitoring pool and deck areas continuously
- Enforcing pool rules and safety regulations
- Responding to and performing rescues, CPR/AED, and first aid
- Assisting with swim instruction and pool maintenance tasks
- Providing excellent service to members, guests, and families
- Assisting with Kids Activities programming (ie. Camp Counselor shifts, child supervision, participation in Watersports activities such as sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR & AED Certified prior to employment
- Must have 2 years’ experience in Lifeguarding
- Excellent swim strength—able to swim 300+ yards and perform rescue swimming
- Must have general knowledge of swim instruction and water safety
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and a professional demeanor
