Job Description
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the operation and oversight of chemical blending manufacturing. All Seatex employees will maintain a safety-first attitude while adhering to all company standards, policies, and procedures, as well as compliance with all federal and state regulations, including OSHA and TCEQ.
- Responsible for directing, organizing, and overseeing the blending & filling/packaging of chemical products. Ensures that all production is completed in accordance with established quality and production standards
- Evaluating production employees driving accountability in performance
- Organizes, schedules, prioritizes, and communicates daily activities to meet demand
- Ensures that processes are being completed according to company standards and specifications
- Makes safety a priority daily for themselves & team members holding team members accountable for compliance to safety processes/procedures
- Completes related paperwork, reports, and support functions
- Informs management of any significant problems, issues, or concerns
- Ensures operating discipline in the facility including adherence to safety, quality, & production procedures and instructions
- Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained
- Reviews and updates production policies and procedures regularly
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining good communication, coordination, and working relations with company personnel and with management
- Provides suggestions for improved performances
- Leads projects (scope development, business justification, & oversight of resources) to drive safety, quality, & productivity improvements
- Communicates with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure that supplies and inventory are at appropriate levels
- Communicates production opportunities, constraints, and overall performance in a prioritized manner to the company
- Assists with other production activities as needed
- Uses ERP system to aid in effective production planning, scheduling, & accounting
- Responsible for inventory management processes
- Additional duties as necessary
- High school graduate or equivalent (minimum)
- Strong supervisory abilities with at least three years of chemical production (or related) supervisory experience
- Prior knowledge of formulating, testing, and inspecting various chemical products
- Knowledgeable of and able to operate production machinery
- Quality orientation and attentive to detail
- Solid decision-making skills
- Competent computer skills including basic MS office functions. ERP experience a plus
- Excellent communication skills
