Summary:
Busek is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Vibration Test Engineer to support environmental testing of flight and development hardware. This role is critical in ensuring that our propulsion systems and components can withstand the mechanical stresses of launch and space operations. You will be responsible for test planning, fixture design, test execution, and data analysis in support of product qualification and acceptance.
How you will make an impact:
- Develop test plans and procedures for sine, random, and shock vibration tests in accordance with customer and industry specifications (NASA, MIL-STD, etc.).
- Design and fabricate test fixtures for structural integrity and modal compatibility.
- Set up and operate electrodynamic shakers and data acquisition systems.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to define test requirements and interpret results.
- Analyze test data and generate detailed reports documenting test setup, procedures, and results.
- Maintain and calibrate vibration test equipment.
- Support root cause analysis for any test anomalies or failures.
- Contribute to the continual improvement of environmental testing processes and infrastructure.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Hands-on experience with vibration testing (shaker systems, fixturing, instrumentation).
- Familiarity with environmental test standards (NASA GEVS, MIL-STD-810, etc.).
- Experience with accelerometers, modal analysis, and data acquisition software (e.g., VibrationVIEW, m+p, LMS, etc.).
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including fixture design and machine shop interface.
- Excellent technical communication and documentation skills.
- Experience working in the aerospace or defense industry.
- Familiarity with thermal-vacuum or shock testing.
- SolidWorks or other 3D CAD experience.
- LabView or Python scripting for automation or data analysis.
| The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000. Actual compensation will be determined by the candidate’s experience, education, and alignment with organizational needs. |
