More about the role

We are establishing a new, independent UX Quality & Consumer Experience Assurance capability to raise the bar for how user experience is treated across our Consumer Business.

As Head of UX Quality & Consumer Experience Assurance, you will ensure that UX is a ship / no-ship quality attribute, embedded structurally in our development lifecycles. Positioned in the Quality organization, you operate with an independent mandate to make UX quality decisions based on evidence, risk, and consumer impact.

This is a build-and-transform role. You will define the standards, set the bar, and make them stick — ensuring that whenever consumers use our products, they feel: “Somebody really thought about me.”

We would prefer for you to work from our Eindhoven office; however, we are also open to candidates who can work from our Amsterdam office.

What you will do

Own UX as a Quality Attribute

  • Establish UX Quality & Consumer Experience Assurance as a formal quality discipline within the Consumer Business

  • Provide independent go / no-go input at development lifecycle gates based on UX readiness and risk

  • Protect the consumer experience and brand by ensuring UX quality is proven, not assumed

Define and Govern UX Assurance & Validation

  • Define the UX assurance framework, built on rigorous UX validation

  • Set clear standards and methodologies for UX requirement validation, usability testing, experience evaluation, and benchmarking

  • Ensure UX decisions are evidence-based, traceable, and consistent across portfolios

Embed UX Structurally in Development

  • Embed UX Quality & Assurance in pre-development and product development lifecycles

  • Introduce and govern the Project UX Charter, defining UX scope, methods, timing, and deliverables per project

  • Ensure UX is addressed early and continuously — not as a late-stage check

  • Ensures learnings on UX from existing portfolio performance and product phase out are applied in new innovations and product (pre-)development

Lead Research, Benchmarking & In-Market Feedback

  • Lead high-quality UX research across qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods

  • Establish competitive and best-in-class UX benchmarks to set ambition and quality thresholds

  • Set up continuous in-market feedback loops and ensure learnings drive improvement

Build Capability and Drive Change

  • As group leader, builds and leads a hands-on UX Quality & Assurance capability. This includes setting up a new team and competence, deploying UX process and practices, and setting up test facilities

  • Acts as a change agent, building bridges and driving UX mindset across Quality, Product Management, Engineering, Design, Market Intelligence and global research and development sites

  • Challenge internal assumptions and drive a user-centric, quality-driven mindset through clear storytelling and leadership

What you will need

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, capable of influencing at senior leadership level

  • Extensive experience in UX research, UX validation, or experience quality in consumer product environments

  • Proven track record in building or scaling new capabilities, not just operating mature, fully formalized systems

  • Strong experience embedding UX structurally into product development lifecycles

  • Experience operating with authority in quality, governance, or risk-based decision contexts

  • Deep expertise in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed UX research methods

  • Ability to translate insights into clear UX requirements, risks, and quality thresholds

  • Strong judgment and confidence to make and stand by difficult UX quality decisions

  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across disciplines

  • Clear, compelling communicator who can turn insights into action

Why this role is different

UX serves as a formal quality gate rather than being based on design preferences. In this role, you operate with an independent mandate rooted in the Quality organization. You will have the opportunity to create something entirely new and influence how the organization approaches UX, risk, and consumer value. Your work will have a direct impact on determining what ultimately reaches consumers and what does not.

Everything we’ll do for you

You can grow a lasting career here. We’ll encourage you, support you, and challenge you. We’ll help you learn and progress in a way that’s right for you, with coaching and mentoring along the way. We’ll listen to you too, because we see and value every one of our 27,000+ people. We believe that a diverse and inclusive workplace fosters creativity, innovation, and a full spectrum of bright ideas. With a global workforce present in 70+ countries, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where every voice is heard and valued, helping us all achieve more together.

Come join us, and together we can light up the future.
