What We're Looking For in a Highly Qualified Candidate:

Social Studies Teacher

• Passion for history, civics, and geography with the ability to connect past and present
• Strong emphasis on reading comprehension and writing in a social studies context
• Uses student-centered strategies, like debates, document-based questions (DBQs), and project-based learning
• Encourages critical thinking and multiple perspectives
• Integrates social studies content with literacy and research skills
   

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field (Master's preferred)
• Valid Michigan teaching certification or the ability to obtain one
• Previous classroom experience at the middle school level strongly preferred
• Demonstrated commitment to student achievement, equity, and growth
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
   

Salary Range:    Starting pay 50,000.00 (negotiable)         
                            Pay increases based on experience.

Starting Date:    2026-2027 School Year

Retirement:  401K with 4% and another 4% matching by the school

College transcripts, three references, and a copy of appropriate credentials should also be submitted during the application process.
