Responsibilities:

40% - Design, perform and analyze experiments to study the structure/function relationships of assigned proteins from Mycobacterium tuberculosis and other organisms.

10% - Cloning and expression of proteins of interest.

20% - Purification of proteins in sufficient quantity to obtain crystals. Crystallization of proteins. Data collection and analysis.

10% - Preparing data for grant application

10% - Monitoring and quality control of drug library. High-throughput drug screens. Assist with laboratory management of stocks, supplies and equipment.

5% - Communicating and conducting collaborations with pharmaceutical partners

5% - Training students and other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Eight years of related experience.

 

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
