Responsibilities:
50% - Design, perform and analyze experiments to study the structure/function relationships of assigned proteins.
25% - Cloning and expression of proteins of interest. Purification of proteins in sufficient quantity to obtain crystals. Crystallization of proteins. Data collection and analysis.
10% - Preparation of data presentations and publications. Assist principal investigator with preparation of manuscripts.
5% - Assist principal investigator with preparation of grant proposals.
5% - Assist with laboratory management of stocks, supplies, and equipment.
5% - Other duties as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some experience in area of specialization.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
