Mechanical Insulation Estimator

Job Description PCI is seeking an experienced Mechanical Insulation Estimator for its PCI Washington DC 566 operations based in Ashburn, VA. Job responsibilities include: Perform quantitative takeoffs on construction projects Establish labor productivities for estimate Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of our self-performing group Gain understanding of market conditions and competitive approach through engaging customer feedback on proposal scope clarifications and price. Understanding backlog, level or risk for work, and other factors for establishing margin percentages to mitigate risk. Involvement in internal bid reviews with supervisors and project teams Participate in customer alignment objectives by creating and maintaining positive customer relationships. Utilize wage and benefit schedules Hand-off secured projects to the Operations team Assist in other duties as assigned such as change orders depending on the project(s) Support other members of the Estimating team for product line collaboration Salary Range: $88,000-$116,000 annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program. This position is safety sensitive.   Basic Requirements Strong ability to read, understand and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work. Strong record of establishing and maintaining customer relationships. Excellent communication and customer service skills. High level of attention to detail and cost analysis. Proactive and self-motivated  Ability to accurately read schedules for sequencing and durations of applicable scopes of work. Proficiency with computer takeoff & estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff, BuzzBID, Quickbid, and/or MIKE. Proficient skills in Microsoft Office, BlueBeam Revu, Procore, or PlanSwift.   Preferred Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline At least 2-4 years of experience estimating construction projects is preferred Experience with estimating/project management/managing HVAC pipe and duct insulation scopes of construction is preferred Local to San Antonio metro area   This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
