Senior SAP Basis Consultant – Security Focus
Job Description
Role Summary:
A seasoned Senior SAP Consultant with a strong background in SAP Basis and a newly defined focus on SAP Security. This role has evolved to prioritize the design, implementation, and governance of SAP security frameworks across our enterprise landscape.
Key responsibilities and activities include, but is not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
- SAP Basis Administration:
- Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance of SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, Solution Manager, ALM, etc.).
- Monitor system performance and availability, applying patches and kernel updates as needed.
- Manage transport landscapes and transports in general. Perform system copies and client refreshes.
- SAP Security Leadership:
- Analyse SAP security notes and distribute them to relevant teams for comments and approval.
- Implement approved security notes.
- Lead security audits, risk assessments, and remediation efforts to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOX).
- Collaborate with business and audit teams to define and enforce access control policies.
- Identity & Access Management:
- Integrate SAP systems with identity providers (e.g., Azure AD, LDAP).
- Manage Single Sign-On (SSO) configurations and troubleshoot authentication issues.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
- Proactively monitor system logs and performance metrics to identify and resolve issues.
- Provide expert-level support for SAP Basis and security-related incidents.
- Security Monitoring & Incident Response:
- Proactively monitor SAP systems for security vulnerabilities and suspicious activity.
- Respond to and investigate security incidents, coordinating with IT security teams as needed.
- Maintain secure communication protocols (SSL, SNC, SAML) and encryption standards
- Documentation & Best Practices:
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, security policies, and procedures.
- Develop and enforce SAP Basis and security best practices.
