Purpose of the Role

BGIS is seeking an experienced Asset Manager to lead strategic asset maintenance, lifecycle planning, compliance, and planned preventative maintenance programs across a large, high-profile and fast-moving operational site in Melbourne’s north.

Reporting directly to the Account Manager, you will work closely with operational teams, contractors, and client stakeholders to ensure assets are maintained safely, efficiently, and in line with operational and legislative requirements.

This role suits someone who enjoys balancing long-term planning with day-to-day operational responsiveness. You will thrive in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly, stakeholder requests may arise at short notice, and collaboration across teams is essential. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, solutions-focused, approachable, and confident building trusted working relationships while maintaining strong attention to detail and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage strategic asset management, lifecycle, and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programs 
  • Maintain and improve the site asset register, asset condition reporting, and lifecycle planning activities 
  • Analyse asset performance data and provide recommendations to improve reliability, compliance, sustainability, and whole-of-life outcomes 
  • Coordinate maintenance planning, contractor activities, audits, and compliance requirements across the site 
  • Support the delivery of annual and 5-year capital works planning programs 
  • Provide technical guidance and support to operational teams and stakeholders 
  • Develop management plans, contract documentation, procurement activities, and maintenance strategies 
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, OH&S, statutory, and environmental requirements 
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, contractors, and client representatives to support shared operational outcomes 

Education, Experience & Skills

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience in Asset Management, Facilities Management, Engineering, or Technical Services environments 
  • Experience managing large and complex asset portfolios, maintenance programs, or operational infrastructure 
  • Knowledge of lifecycle planning, compliance frameworks, capital works, and maintenance strategies 
  • Strong analytical and reporting capability, including experience interpreting asset performance data 
  • Experience using CMMS platforms, asset management systems, and Microsoft O365 applications 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills 
  • Ability to remain organised and adaptable within reactive operational environments
  • Tertiary qualification or technical trade qualification in Engineering, Asset Management, or Technical Services preferred

Desirable:

  • Experience within complex or high-volume operational environments 
  • Facilities Management experience 
  • Knowledge of ISO 55000 frameworks 
  • Project management or capital delivery experience 
  • Experience working within integrated services or property environments

This position is based full-time onsite in Epping, with flexible start and finish times available within core business hours. Free onsite parking is provided.
