Job Profile Summary
The Environmental Compliance Specialist supports the Environmental Shared Services (ESS) group with tasks related to environmental compliance of underground storage tank (UST) systems within an assigned Business Unit (BU) including invoicing, data entry, and reporting. The Specialist role involves understanding state/federal regulations, maintaining databases, monitoring release detection equipment, coordinating invoice processing, and assisting with contractor/vendor work orders. In working with an Environmental Compliance Supervisor, coordinates operational and regulatory activities in supporting the BU needs, ensures delivery of contracted services, and proactively reviews internal and external data sources (including Titan Cloud).
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains environmental databases and systems through data collection, scanning, data entry, and reporting.
- Coordinates ESS invoice processing and payments. Works with vendors, internal programs, and financial platforms to address any billing concerns or statement discrepancies.
- Supports the Environmental Compliance Supervisor, ESS group, other functional departments, and the divisions by answering questions and furnishing information based on company policies and procedures.
- Compiles and communicates environmental work to the appropriate teams and contractors/vendors.
- Assists in the monitoring, tracking, and processing of regulations, inspections, testing, and reports.
- Develops and maintains positive working relationships with supervisory personnel, co-workers, government representatives, and other internal and external business professionals.
- Other assigned duties as assigned or deemed necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma; Associates degree preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience or more preferred.
- Must be computer literate in Word, Excel, Outlook, external Databases and PowerPoint.
- Maintain UST Class A/B Operator certifications across all applicable states within assigned divisions.
- Ability to read, listen, understand, focus on and communicate information and ideas in a clear and understandable manner, both orally and in writing.
- Comfortable in asking questions and seeking direction and answers as necessary.
- Increases professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reading professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Physical Demands: Work requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, and use of keyboard/computer. Work requires occasional bending, reaching and lifting/moving up to 35 pounds. Work is subject to tight deadlines and interruptions can be stressful.
- Working Conditions: Normal office environment with little to no exposure to adverse working conditions. Work may occasionally include long hours and travel. Occasional exposure to fuel/ fuel vapors if required to attend site level inspections or training. Remote work by approval only.
