Position Summary
Vista Equity Partners seeks an M&A Advisor to support the Foundation Fund's deal team on sourcing M&A opportunities. Foundation Fund is one of the fastest growing software investment funds, with $10 billion AUM and focuses exclusively on investing in growing enterprise software businesses with initial revenue between $30 million and $100 million+. This individual would support sourcing workflows for the Fund across various sectors.
The right candidate will have a passion for business development, a strong understanding of software M&A, be well-versed in sourcing proprietary opportunities through direct outreach.
This full-time role is preferably based in Austin, TX and is for an immediate start.
Responsibilities
- Identify new M&A investment opportunities in B2B software
- Proactively source and build M&A pipelines via: direct outreach to executives and sponsors, attending industry events and conferences, and tracking market trends
- Support the deal team in M&A research around new investment opportunities
- Manage and support strategic M&A opportunities for existing portfolio companies
Qualifications
- BS/BA required
- 2–6 years of relevant professional experience, such as private equity, investment banking, corporate development, or consulting. Software investing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of M&A processes, including sourcing and deal structuring.
- Proven ability to evaluate markets and companies through financial analysis, competitive landscape assessment, and industry research
- Demonstrated track record of success and accountability managing multiple workstreams in a fast-paced deal environment with high attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to engage with senior executives.
- Collaborative and competitive. Strong desire to achieve goals in a team-based environment
- Interest or expertise in B2B software (or technology-related sectors)
- Intellectually curious with high analytical horsepower
- Coachable, resilient, personable, and self-aware
