The Senior Freight Analyst is responsible for managing and optimizing all freight and transportation activities across the distribution network. This role combines daily logistics execution with data analysis, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives. The analyst collaborates cross-functionally with internal teams, 3PL providers, carriers, and finance to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and compliant transportation operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate order movement across Customer Service, 3PL, and TMS systems.
- Track shipments and resolve delays, damages, and service disruptions.
- Monitor EDI transmissions and maintain communication with carriers and providers.
- Ensure lowest-cost carrier compliance for inbound and outbound freight.
- Manage freight billing accuracy, accruals, GL coding, and cost allocations.
- Analyze transportation costs, carrier performance, and savings opportunities.
- Develop KPI dashboards and maintain carrier rates, NMFC classifications, and system data.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred
- Experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain analytics
- Knowledge of TMS/ERP systems and freight concepts including LTL, TL, parcel, and NMFC freight classification.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Power BI
- Proven success driving process improvements and cost-saving initiatives
- Strong leadership, communication, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration skills
