Job Description
This individual contributor role is responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities across an assigned client portfolio. The role focuses on driving joint growth initiatives across both issuing and acquiring, with the objective of increasing credential issuance, expanding card acceptance, and accelerating volume growth in Portugal. In parallel, the role supports the positioning and adoption of broader money movement solutions and value‑added services by actively engaging with the wider payments ecosystem. The position is based in Lisbon, Portugal.
Responsibilities:
- Identify new business opportunities and actively support growth ambitions for assigned clients by offering Visa Solutions. Provide dynamic and proactive product/service support and customer service.
- Analyze market data and collaborate with other market teams to identify new issuing and acceptance opportunities.
- Measure and monitor the results of implemented activities to ensure they align with strategic goals.
- Implement digital agendas (Tokenization, Click to Pay, Authentication, Risk, Tap-to-Phone, among others) for the market and assigned clients.
- Develop and present compelling pitching decks and business cases.
- Foster strong client relationships through regular performance reviews and strategic alignment sessions, acting as a trusted advisor and keeping clients informed of the latest market trends and Visa Solutions, while catering to the joint objectives set under the established agreements.
- Drive sales growth within your client portfolio by understanding and integrating their strategic objectives and providing tailored solutions to meet their needs.
- Contribute to business development efforts for new digital players (Fintech, Enablers, Bin Sponsors, Processors, Digital Payfacs, Visa Direct Programs, Wallets), ensuring seamless client onboarding and effective go-to-market strategies.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics or engineering (preferred, but not required).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience (preferred, but not required: business / strategy consulting, banking, investment banking or payments).
- Fluency in Portuguese and English (additional languages are a plus).
- Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt messages to different audiences and work effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills, with the ability to identify key issues, find opportunities, and develop practical solutions.
- Solid business planning and project management skills, with experience using financial and performance indicators to track business performance and manage multiple priorities.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively, building strong cross-functional relationships and supporting multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
