Research Technician I

Set up lab equipment following detailed procedures. Perform routine laboratory procedures such as handling of autoimmune arthritis model, immuno and histological staining, ELISA, Flow analysis, light and fluorescent microscopy, RT-PCR. Record information and maintain logs of experimental data for data analysis. Assist with grant and manuscript submissions. Mouse colony management including PCR genotyping and weaning of the mouse litters. Assist in training students working in the laboratory. Manage lab safety protocol, waste material and arrange for disposal according to established procedures. Clean/sterilize instruments, glassware, and equipment. General lab upkeep including ordering and maintaining lab supplies.
