Job Description

Manage and optimize the full Microsoft 365 environment (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive). This includes configuring tenant settings, managing user accounts and permissions, overseeing license assignments, and handling service requests in line with global standards and policies. M365 Service Lifecycle Management: Oversee the lifecycle of Microsoft 365 services – from evaluating and rolling out new M365 features and updates, to decommissioning or upgrading services as needed. Stay up-to-date with Microsoft’s roadmap (e.g. new features, security updates, Microsoft 365 Copilot, etc.) and plan proactive improvements or changes. Develop and enforce governance policies for M365 (e.g. retention, data loss prevention) to ensure compliance and optimal use of the platform. Manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) to handle identity and access management. Manage user identities, groups, and roles; enforce identity security through Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Single Sign-On (SSO), Conditional Access policies, and periodic access reviews. Microsoft Platform L3 Support: Serve as the Tier-3 (L3) escalation point for complex issues related to Microsoft 365 services and underlying infrastructure. Troubleshoot and resolve high-priority incidents such as mail flow problems, authentication or synchronization issues, and service outages. Work closely with Level 1 and Level 2 support teams, providing guidance and mentorship in resolving advanced problems. Engage with Microsoft Support (Premier/Unified Support) as needed to resolve critical incidents Execute license assignment and optimization in line with global policies and cost-awareness. Support DevOps teams with platform-level enablement and environment provisioning readiness. Plan, provision, and deploy Azure services and resources to internal teams. Utilize automation and scripting to streamline provisioning and maintain consistency across environments. continuous monitoring of Azure consumptions. Project Leadership & Migration Initiatives: Take a lead role in planning and executing IT projects related to the Microsoft ecosystem. For example, manage any major migration projects (such as cloud migrations, tenant-to-tenant migrations, or integration of acquired companies’ tenants), new software rollouts, or upgrades of infrastructure. Develop project plans, coordinate resources, and ensure on-time delivery. Communicate progress and challenges to stakeholders and contribute to strategic IT roadmaps for the region. Serve as regional interface between Mexico IT/business and central IT teams in Germany. Skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred. 5-8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and Microsoft 365 administration in an enterprise environment (with at least several years in a senior or Level 3 support capacity). Experience working in a multinational or multi-site organization is highly desirable. Microsoft 365 Expertise: Proven, hands-on expertise in managing Microsoft 365 services – including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive – with a track record of successful deployments, configurations, and troubleshooting in these areas. Experience with email migrations (from on-premises Exchange or other platforms to Exchange Online) and administering collaboration tools is required. Infrastructure & Cloud Skills: Solid experience with IT infrastructure (servers, networking, storage) and cloud platforms. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure services (for example, managing Azure VMs, network configurations, and security in Azure) is a plus. Competency in networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN) and Windows Server/Active Directory administration. Experience with infrastructure deployment and environment provisioning for applications or DevOps projects is beneficial. Soft Skills: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset to identify and fix issues before they impact users. Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written) are mandatory; German language proficiency is highly valued to facilitate communication with German-speaking colleagues and stakeholders. Certifications: Relevant Microsoft certifications are strongly preferred to demonstrate expertise. Ideal certifications include Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (covering Microsoft 365 administration, planning, and architecting). Other valuable certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator or Identity and Access Administrator (SC-300), and ITIL Foundation.
