Job Description
MCW Custom Energy Solutions, is currently seeking a self-motivated, hardworking On-Site Construction Manager, to join our Winnipeg Office. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is interested in further developing their career and is looking to gain valuable hands-on work experience in a fast-paced engineering consultancy.
Position: Construction Manager (on-site)
Location: Winnipeg Manitoba
Employment Type: Full-time Permanent or Contract options
Responsibilities:
Working with the Project Manager to ensure project deliverables and tasks are completed on schedule.
Coordinating all on-site construction activities.
Supervising and expediting subcontractor work to maintain progress and quality.
Liaising with the owner and building occupants to coordinate access, address construction issues, and minimize disruption in occupied areas.
Ensuring work is executed in accordance with the project scope, schedule, and specifications.
Supporting the Project Manager with tender and bid reviews, including identifying any required modifications.
Interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
Ensuring all required permits, documentation, and procedures are in place prior to mobilization.
Keeping the engineer of record and/or Project Manager informed of any material design changes identified or implemented in the field or through construction administration activities.
Providing construction administration services and serving as the primary point of contact for project-related questions, requests, shutdowns, and scheduling.
Coordinating inspections by consultants and/or Measure Managers.
Identifying non-conforming work and ensuring technical issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Acting as the Construction Safety Manager for the duration of the project, ensuring compliance and maintaining required documentation.
Assisting the MCW Engineering team with RFIs, contemplated revisions, change orders, field reviews, pricing reviews, and close-out packages, and preparing project status reports and supporting documentation as required.
Investigate and resolve as they arise, with support from the MCW team, to maintain project progress and quality.
Education
Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or Building Technology or other relevant technical diploma is preferred.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), C.E.T., and/or PMP designation considered an asset.
Trade Qualification Ticket in electrical or mechanical related construction trade.
Qualifications and Experience
Ideally 5+ years of related work experience.
Experience working in the commercial / institutional construction, including high security environments, is an asset.
Proven ability to manage construction productivity and safety.
Working knowledge of OH&S regulations and related construction codes.
Supervisory Training, Asbestos Awareness, Fall Protection and First Aid certifications are considered assets.

Bona fide Job Requirement:
This role will require a minimum of Reliability Clearance under the Contract Security Program administered by Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC). As a result, successful security clearance will be a condition of employment.
