ORGANISATION: CTVC

LOCATION: Liverpool Road, Manchester, M3 4SB. This opportunity is available to those who live within a commutable distance of CTVC's Manchester office. Due to working hours, we recommend a maximum of one hour from / to base (Manchester, M3 4SB). Please note there will be no reimbursement of travel to and from work.

CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed term contract, full time for 13 months (September 2026 to October 2027)

SALARY: £24,650 per year

The BBC Flexi Job Apprenticeship Agency (FJAA) is offering an exciting opportunity to join CTVC in Manchester as a Production Apprentice, gaining experience across Songs of Praise and BBC Live Lessons.

Through the BBC’s Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency, you will be hired by the BBC and be placed with CTVC for the duration of your apprenticeship. The BBC will work with CTVC and Bauer Academy to oversee your successful completion on the apprenticeship.

WHY BECOME A PRODUCTION APPRENTICE?

This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on role where you’ll support productions from development through to delivery.

 

You’ll work across a mix of factual entertainment, documentaries, educational content and social media projects, developing practical skills in production, coordination and content workflows.

 

No two days will be the same, and you’ll gain real experience that prepares you for roles such as Runner, Junior Researcher, Junior Production Coordinator or Digital Content Assistant. 

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

 

As a Production apprentice at CTVC, this is brilliant opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute - you will: 
 

  • Assist Production Coordinators with day-to-day administration, such as booking travel, accommodation, and couriers.
  • Help prepare call sheets, release forms and production paperwork as well as managing schedules, calendars and contact databases.
  • Support shoots, including coordinating contributors, organising kit, locations and deliveries.
  • Help source archive, music and visual materials and assist with digital and social content processes.
  • Support post-production workflows such as file transfers and documentation, as well as logging expenses and support budget tracking.
  • Provide general office and team support, including helping with the day-to-day running of the office

 

What will you be studying?

 

You’ll be studying your industry recognised qualification, learning both on- and off-the-job in a programme delivered by Bauer Academy

An apprenticeship requires full commitment and discipline from the learner. Alongside experiences and training, there is an expectation of wider self-learning and the requirement to meet learning objectives and deadlines, as outlined by the apprenticeship standards.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

 

To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must:

 

  • Be aged 18 or over when the apprenticeship starts in 2 September 2026.
  • Live within a commutable distance of CTVC's Manchester office.
  • Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship.
  • Be legally eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship.
  • Not currently be taking part in an apprenticeship scheme supported by the BBC or another organisation.

 

To apply for this scheme, you must also:

 

  • Not have completed or hold qualifications in the apprenticeship subject at the same or higher level.
  • Be available for the in-person assessment which will take place on Friday 31st July 2026 at BBC MediaCityUK in Salford. 
  • Be able to start on 2nd September 2026.

 

For candidates under the age of 19 years at 2nd September 2026: To complete the apprenticeship, you must have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent qualification. If you have not achieved these qualifications by the start of your apprenticeship, you will be required to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 before the end of your apprenticeship when you take your end-point assessment.
