Hourly Wage: $23.75 

About Youth Worker:
Supervises, monitors, maintains security and safety of court ordered dependent, neglected or delinquent youth at the Juvenile Detention and Diversion Services Center.
  • Conducts intake activities for residents including conducting interviews to obtain required information. 
  • Checks and maintains security and safety of residents/participants on a continual basis. 
  • Responds to emergency situations that may occur, including escape and suicide attempts, drug overdose, intoxicated youth, etc. 
  • Physically restrains residents/participants if necessary. 
  • Supervises dependent, neglected, or delinquent youth during the late evening and early morning hours (third shift). 
  • Awakens residents, supervises showers, and dispenses medication as needed. 
  • Monitors access to and within the building using cameras and security systems. 
  • Supervises and monitors participants' and residents' behavior and maintains daily records. 
  • Performs data entry and reporting for program recordkeeping. 
  • Promotes, encourages, and supports appropriate behavior. 
  • Performs light maintenance tasks such as cleaning and laundry activities. 
  • Explains and enforces rules consistently and fairly. 
  • Knows the products they personally produce and the customers of each product. Listens to the “Voice of the Customer" and closes gaps between customer expectations and experience whenever possible. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 
  • Associate degree in Human Services or related field and at least 1 year of experience in the care, counseling, and management of delinquent adolescents 
OR 
  • At least 3 years of experience in the care, counseling, and management of delinquent adolescents
Saturday - Wednesday 
11 p.m. - 7 a.m. 
Thursday, Friday off
